Wall of Honors Newest Members

The National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum would like to welcome our newest members to the Corporate Wall of Honors: Bucyrus International Inc. and P&H Mining Equipment.

Headquartered in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bucyrus International is a leading design and manufacturing company specializing in high production mining equipment for surface and underground mines. Founded in 1880, Bucyrus has played a major role in the development of the world's mining industry, and most famously known for its contribution of 77 Bucyrus shovels which helped construct the Panama Canal in 1908.

Learn about this companies successful history and current contributions on their website at www.bucyrus.com as well as check out William Wheeler Coleman, a 2010 National Mining Museum Hall of Fame Inductee. Coleman was a great visionary for the company and served as president from 1911 to 1957. He is considered one of the America's great industrial leaders and a true Bucyrus Warrior.

Dec. 1, 1884, Alonzo Pawling and Henry Harnischfeger formed a partnership and established a machine shop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that grew to become P&H Mining Equipment, a global leader in the manufacture and service of large, pace-setting excavating and drilling machines for the mining industry. Today, the P&H trademark continues to be recognized throughout the world mining industry as a symbol of quality and service whose equipment is used in even the harshest of mining environments.

Discover the breadth of this company's innovations at their website, www.phmining.com. Also, don't forget to look up Pawling and Harnischfeger, 2009 National Mining Hall of Fame Inductees, and see how their vision led to the great company of today.
