Saturday, April 7 from 9 AM-5PM - Mineral Maniacs Family Day - Book readings at 11 AM and 2 PM

Children 12 and under Free with a paid adult admission

Enjoy a day of games and puzzles about minerals and mining based on the book Mineral Maniacs and the Magic Hardhat.  Come solve a mineral mystery and meet author Jules Miles. Books will be available for purchase.

 

Saturday, June 30 from 2-6:30 PM - Making the Matchless IPA

Free Admission

Join local brewery Periodic Brewing in a demonstration for how they create their signature brew.  Samples will be available for guests over 21. 

 

Thursday, October 4 at 5 PM - Baby Doe Mythbusting

Free Admission

Come to a free screening of the Ballad of Baby Doe opera to set the stage for Elizabeth "Baby Doe" Tabor's life.  Local enthusiast, Brenda Miller, will then debunk the myths portrayed in the opera.  Bring your own food and drink.

Join local geologist and historian, Fred Mark, as he tells the story of Silver King Horace Tabor and his two wives, Augusta and Elizabeth.

 

Thursday, December 6 from 3-5 PM - Miner's Day Kid's Craft Activity

Activity included with regular museum admission

Celebrate Miner's Day with a trip to the NMHFM!  You can make and take a faux stained glass craft.  Templates will be available or you may create your own design.
